The legend of the Black Thomas of Lobor

"Black" Thomas Loborski lived in the second half of the 16th century in his tower Pusto-Lobor in Lobor, Northern Croatia.

He was not very tall and had broad chest and shoulders. His appearance was harsh and sullen and somehow strange: like black wings of a raven, with hair falling down his shoulders. Someone could say that he looked like a relative of some bloodthirsty werewolf. He was indeed a cruel, greedy and insatiable man.

A legend of three brothers

krapina_smallAlong the small river of Krapincica, between the hills, down in the valley, stands the town of Krapina.

A legend says: during the Roman times, three brothers called Czech, Leh and Meh and their sister Vilina (Fairy), all belonging to the Slaves tribe, lived there.

The Slaves brothers lived above the valley, up at the mountain peaks, and between the mountains tops there used to be suspension bridges connecting them, so that the brothers and their sister and other Slaves living there would not have to meet or cross path with the Romans.
